Dear all...so here we are back on the blog!

A little view of the way of living over here...first in Peru we saw farmers working with the old fashion...I mean that the cows are still used to plough the field...yeah we are happy with the luxery in Europe! Lol

Also here...the women who are living in the coutryside most of the time are washing their clothes directly in the river...no...the washing machine is not for everybody yet in South America!

We also had a lot of time electric shower in the hostals we stayed...ok, it's not so worse...little bit of pressure and if you put it a little bit to hard you have a nice cold shower! (just to say...I think there is a little bit too much of that showers in Peru!)

To save a bit of money, with Wietse we are often use to buy bread and mermelade and make sandwiches in the bus for breakfast or lunch...really handy!
And to finish, we would like to thank you all again for the extra photo space...we think that now we have enough space to let you travel with us for the next 3 month! ;-p

So, we were in the monastery...well...the day after 26th of july, we took a bus around 11h45 to Cabanaconde to go to Colca Canyon. After a complete day in the bus, we arrived in this tiny village around 19h30, the atmosphere was great and people really nice and warm; however we only stayed 1 night for 10 soles per person, and the day after at 6h in the morning we were already walking on the road to Cruz del Condor (the view point to see the condors) yep we could have go by bus, but we decided to walk there, the weather was also really nice...we walked for 2h30 to finally arrive there...the Canyon was huge! and we saw something like 5 - 7 condors!!!!

Then we came back to Arequipa around 16h30, we took our bags, we ate and we took directly a night bus to Cuzco.We arrived there around 5h15 in the morning, and later we went to find an hostal...however Cuzco is really touristic, which made it difficult, but we found one for 60 soles for 1 night...

The 28th of july, in the morning we went to PERURAIL (the train company which is going to Machu Picchu) and we booked tickets for the day after, 31 dollars per persons to go there and 43 to go back...in total 150 dollars for 2, only the transport...but yeah...Cuzco without Machu Picchu...In the afternoon we did a round in the city...a beautiful city..We loved it! and then Wietse bought a small backpack, because his was getting old and torn, then he bought a bigger one and also handier...and me...I bought a BUFF this kind of scarf that you can also use as you want, like a hat or a bandana...Really handy I can say!

The 29th of july in the morning we took a collectivo to Ollantaytambo where the train station for the train to Aguas Calientes(or also called Machu Picchu village). We arrived then in Aguas Calientes around 13h30, we spent one night in the hotal LOS CAMINANTES (for 30 soles the night, that was really cheap because in this village everything is really expensive because really touristic)...Then around 5h30 the day after we were already in the bus to enter in the Machu Picchu...arrived there around 6h we crossed all Machu Picchu to arrive with the first 400 people to climb the Wayna Picchu (the Mountain behind the Mahu Picchu)...we were finally in the first 200! :-) The wheater could be better, it was raining a lot...bad luck...we climbed really high, untill the top for 1 hour, and then we went down to the caves behind the mountain. The weather was misty and rainy but the scenery was really cool, like a misty atmosphere with the clouds...then we had to climb again really high to come back to the entrance...that was a good exercice...almost 4 hours of climbing. After that we took our time to visit the huge Machu Picchu, and the weather was getting better.

The day after we took back the train at 8h30 to Ollantaytambo where we visited some terrasses and ruins.

On Friday 1st of August we visited PISAQ, where you can find a big market, but also beautiful ruins hidden in the mountains, when we arrived on top we discovered more and more everytime we walked! That was superb! We walked and climbed there for like 3.5h ;-)

On saturday 2nd of August we did a round in the city of Cuzco again (yep lot of things to see there) and we stop in the artesanial market...unbelievable huge, the women are making everything with there hands and in front of you! and after we visited the Qorikancha museum. In the evening we went to eat in a retaurant where we tried the Alpaca steak (I didn't like it it had the same taste as the deer!) and also the Rocoto Relleno...so this is a filled pepper...really good!

On sunday the 3rd we reserved our bus tickets to go to PUNO city (the Titicaca city) and then we visited some archeologic sites Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Qenq'o et Saksaywamán.

On Monday the 4th we arrived at the INKA EXPRESS bus at 7h to go to PUNO, this bus was different because it was a combination between a normal bus and a tour bus, we had like 9h driving but during the day we stopped at certain points and made a visit with a guide, we also had a buffet for lunch, we paid quite a lot for this tour (50 dollars per person) but it was quite nice to do, at least we did something during the day and not only transportation. We arrived then in PUNO around 17h...It was sooo cold!!! Brrrr We stayed in the hostal Qoñi Wasi for 40 soles the night, for a good room.Here we discovered a new way of transportation the taxi-bike...poor guys who have to cycle to transport people (with bags) or the big Peruvians mamas! hihi

The day after we informed to visit the islands UROS, AMATANI and TAQUILE and the ruins...then in the afternoon we took a tour with the hostal to go to Sillustani ruins. Then when we came to the hostal I wrote an email to Aurore and Olivier...and 1 hour later they were in our hostal, then we decided to go all together to the islands for 2 days and 1 night...that was really interesting, we visited the UROS islands or also called floating islands, that is unbelievable how people are living here, however they are living quite on tourism, expecting that you give them money or food...it's a bit of a feeling of visiting a Zoo! After 45 min on the island we went with the boat to Amantani island where families were waiting for us.Yeah, we spent 1 night in a local family of Gloria...that was great, on these islands they speak Quechua, only Gloria speaks also Spanish, 26 years old, living with her parents, sleeping in the same room, she has 2 children and her husband is working in Lima, he never come back so far...but she was always laughing and she was facinated about our lives (we showed her the book about Holland we got on our goodbye party), then they (Gloria and her mum) prepared the lunch for us (there is no electricity on the island), everything was old, the guinea pigs were running in between our feet...yeah, it's food for them! Aurore and me helped them to prepare the lunch. After eating they sold us hats, how to not resist!!! Then after having bought the hats we visited with our guide the PACHAMAMA and PACHATATA (the mother's moon and the father's sun) the view was unbelievable, magnificent! We saw the sunset on the Titicaca lake...then we had a dinner at Gloria and she dressed up with traditional outfit and we went to danse on the Peruvian music...it was really fun!!!

The day after we said goodbye to Gloria and we took the boat to go to the last island Taquile...we saw lot of children who were coming to us begging because we had a plastic bag with fruits, they were saying este este showing the plastic bag (we bought it for them of course...) however they were really impolite...but still, we gave the fruits...

From Puno we are heading to the border of Bolivia. To Copacabana (not the Brazilian beach) to be more exactly, also on Lake Titicaca.

Wietse: and one more thing, we have received the picture from Helene and Vincent of us wearing the Holland and France shirt on the 13th of june, only I am wearing a different shirt then the one I got because it was either lost or taken from my bag in Quito or on the boat  Sorry for that guys...

Nous voila de retour sur le blog,

Petite parenthèse sur ce qu'on vit ici...tout d'abord au Pérou nous avons vu que les paysans travaillent encore à la manière précaire, c'est a dire que les boeufs tirent la charette pour labourer les champs! Et oui, on est heureux en Europe avec la technologie! Lol

Aussi ici les femmes qui habitent dans la campagne la plus part du temps lavent leur vetements dans la rivière...et non la machine à laver n'est encore pour tout le monde en Amerique du sud!

Nous avons eu affaire aussi a beaucoup de douche electrique...bon c'est pas si terrible, quoi que...très peu de presión et si tu as le malheur de la mettre trop fort, bah tu prend une douche froide! (en passant y'ena un peu trop comme ça au Pérou)

Pour economiser des ptits sous, très souvent avec Wietse on achète du pain et de la confiture et on se fait des sandwich dans le bus, c'est assez pratique et ça nous fait economiser ou le petit dejeuner ou le dejeuner.

Et une dernière chose enfin...Nous vous remercions beaucoup pour l'espace que vous nous avez offert pour les photos...nous pensons avoir asser d'espace pour vous faire voyager avec nous pour les 3 prochains mois! ;-p

Alors nous en etions au monastere...mmmm...Le lendemain 26 juillet, nous avons pris un bus vers 11h45 en direction de cabanaconde pour le colca canyon, apres une journee entiere, nous sommes arrivés dans ce tout petit village vers 19h30, l atmosphere etait super, les gens tres chaleureux, mais bon nous sommes seulement resté une nuit pour 10 soles chacun puis le 27 juillet a 6h du mat nous etions deja sur la route, et oui, nous avions decidé de marcher jusqu a la cruz del condor...parce que au colca canyon on peut voir des condors! :-p du coup nous avons marché pendant 2h30 pour finalement arrivé...c est immensemment grand et puis nous avons vu environ 5 ou 7 condors.

Puis nous sommes retournés a Arequipa vers 16h30, nous avons pris nos sacs, nous avons mangé et pris un bus direct de nuit pour Cusco. Nous sommes arrivés a cuzco vers 5h15 du matin, puis nous avons ete chercher un hotel...cependant Cusco est une ville tres touristique et du coup il a ete tres difficile de trouver un hotel, finalement 60 soles pour la nuit...

Le 28 juillet, le matin nous avons ete a PERURAIL (le train pour nous emmener au Machu Picchu) et nous avons reserver nos tickets pour le lendemain 31 dollars par personnes l'aller et 43 dollars par personne pour le retour ..en tout...pfouah! 150 dollars pour 2 soit un truc comme 435 soles...mais bon...Cuzco sans le Machu Picchu...

L'après-midi nous avons ete nous promener dans la ville de Cuzco, SUPER VILLE! nous avons adoré! On etait en plein dans les fetes de la patrie, du coup y'avait la fete dans la ville, et les feux d'artifice toutes les heures! puis Wietse s'est acheté un sac à dos, car le sien commençait a etre abimé, il en a acheté un plus gros et plus pratique...et moi je me suis acheté un buff...mmm...sorte d'echarpe polaire, que tu peux utiliser un peu comme tu veux, le mettre en bonnet ou juste en bandana...très pratique je dois dire!

Le 29 juillet au matin, nous avons pris un collectivo direction la ville d Ollantaytambo afin de prendre le train pour Aguas Calientes (ou appelé le village du Machu Picchu). Nous sommes arrivés au village de Aguas Calientes vers 13h30, nous y avons passé une nuit à l'hostal LOS CAMINANTES (30 soles pour la nuit, ça valait le coup car dans cette ville tout est excessivement cher!)...puis à 5h30 du matin le lendemain nous etions dans le bus pour l'entrée du Machu Picchu...arrivés vers 6h nous avons traversé tout le Machu Picchu afin d arriver dans le 400 premiers pour pouvoir monter au sommet du Wayna Picchu (La montagne qui se trouve derriere le Machu Picchu) nous etions meme dans les 200 premiers! Ce jour l il pleuvait beaucoup...pas de chance; nous sommes montés tres haut pendant 1h puis nous sommes redescendus par derriere la montagne pour aller visiter les caves! le temps etait pourri, mais ça donnait une ambiance mystique avec les nuages...puis nous avons regrimper pour retourner à l entrée...ça c'était du sport! casiment 4h de montée. Après ça nous avons fait la visite du grand Machu Picchu pendant environ 3h, et heureusement le temps était devenu beau.

Le lendemain nous avons repris le train vers 8h30 pour retourner a Ollantaytambo, puis nous avons ete visiter les terrasses et ruines.

Le vendredi 1er aout nous avons été dans la ville de Pisaq, ou il y a un grand marché, mais aussi de magnifique ruines toutes cachées par les montagnes, quand on est arrivé au sommet on a decouvert des ruines, et plus on avançait plus on en decouvrait! C'etait superbe! on avons marché et monté surtout pendant 3.5h ;-)

Le samedi 2 aout, nous avons ete faire un tour dans la ville et nous nous sommes arretés au marché artisanal...incroyablement grand, les femmes font tout à la main sous vos yeux! puis après nous avons ete visiter le musée de Qorikancha. Le soir nous sommes allés manger dans un restaurant ou nous avons gouté au steak d'Alpaca...(moi j'ai pas aimé ça a le gout de la biche!) et un rocoto relleno...alors ça c'est un piment farci on va dire...très bon!

Le dimanche 3 aout nous sommes allés reserver nos billet de bus pour Puno (la ville du lac titicaca) et ensuite nous sommes partis visiter les sites archeologiques Tambomachay, pukapukara, Qenq'o et Saksaywaman.

Le lundi 4 aout nous voila arrivé au bus INKAEXPRESS à 7h pour aller dans la ville de PUNO, bus different des autres, car il nous propose de nous emmener à destination, mais avec des arrets de visites et un buffet le midi...nous avons payer très cher pour 9h de route(50 dollars par personnes), mais bon c'etait sympa à faire, au moins on a pas perdu une journée à rien faire dans le bus. Nous sommes donc arrivé à PUNO vers 17h...qu'est ce qu'il faisait froid!!!!!!!! Nous sommes restés dans l'hostal QoñiWasi très bon hostal pour 40 soles la nuit...très bonne chambre. Ici nous avons découvert un nouveau moyen de transport...les taxi vélo...les pauvres gars qui doivent pédaler très foro pour transporter les gens, ou les grosse dames pérunviennes! Hihihi

Le lendemain nous nous sommes renseigner pour aller visiter les iles UROS, AMANTANI et TAQUILE ainsi que les ruines...du coup vers 14h dans l'aprem nous avons ete visiter les ruines de Sillustani (pas très exceptionnel comparé a tout ce qu'on avait deja vu dans tout le Pérou) puis en retournant à l'hostal nous avons envoyé un mail à nos amis Aurore et Olivier...qui par surprise arrivaient eux aussi a Puno ce jour...du coup le lendemain nous sommes partis ensemble visditer les iles...2 jours et une nuit...c'etait très interessant, nous avons ete visiter les iles d'UROS ou encore appelées les iles flottantes...c'est incroyable la manière dont ils vivent...cependant ils sont baignés dans le tourisme et ils n'attendent de toi que tu leur donne de l'argent ou de la nourriture...ça fait mal au coeur! nous etions un peu deçus...puis nous sommes all0s le meme jour sur l'ile d'Amantani ou la une famille nous attendait tous les 4. Et oui, nous avons passer une nuit dans une famille locale..c'etait genial, dans ces iles ils parlent le Quechua seulement Gloria parlait aussi espagnol;avec sa mère elles nous ont preparer a manger dans leur pièce servant de cuisine, tout etait precaire (pas d'electricité sur l'ile), avec les cochon d'Inde qui nous couraient dans les pattes...et oui ils etaient de la nourriture pour eux... Aurore et moi les avons aider a équeter les haricots verts et eplucher les pommes de terre puis après avoir bien manger, elles nous on vendu des bonnets...comment resiter...Gloria vivait avec ses parents, dormait dans le meme chambre qu'eux, à 26 ans elle avait deja 2 enfants et son mari travaillait a Lima, il ne rentrait jamais....mais bon, elle rigolait tout le temps et etait emmerveillée par notre vie (avec Wietse nous lui avons monter le livre sur la Hollande que nous avons eu avant de partir)! Donc apres avoir acheter les bonnets nous sommes aller visiter la PACHAMAMA ET PACHATATA (la mere lune et le pere soleil) la vue etait INCROYABLEMENT MAGNIFIQUE sur le lac Titicaca, nous avons assister au coucher su soleil... puis nous sommes retourner manger chez Gloria tous ensemble et vers 19h30 elle nous a habillés en tene traditionnelle et nous avons ete danser (fete organiser pour les touristes) on a bien rigoler!

Le lendemain, nous avons dis au revoir a Gloria, puis nous avons pris le bateau pour aller visiter la dernière ile du voyage...Taquile...nous avons croisés beaucoup d'enfantsd sur la route qui nous voyait avec notre poche de fruits...(qu'on avait acheté pour eux...certes...)cependant ils etaient très impolis...este este qu'ils disait en montrant la poche...et nous tout gentil on leur donnait des fruits en leur demandant quand meme de nous dire merci...

De Puno nous allons à la frontière Bolivienne. A Copacabana pour etre plus précis (pas la plage du Brésil) mais de l'autre coté du lac Titicaca.
